New Design on Help Developer

August 16, 2008

This morning I got up and decided that I would redesign Help Developer in one day, and I have done just that, from about 12PM till now (3:40 in the morning), I have designed and coded the brand new template that you see before you. I wanted to make the site more warm and homely hence the use of the colour brown.

The new design has a number of new features which I will highlight below:

Sorry about the lack of updates

August 14, 2008

Hi regular readers of Help Developer (and new ones), I would just like to say sorry for not posting the past week, I promise I will post regularly again soon, I am just working on quite a few contracts at the moment and getting themes designed and ready for when ThemeForest goes live.

In the meantime, I have had a look through my Google Reader and found some great articles that may interest you.

Create a Tabbed Interface using jQuery

DevSnippets - A new site from Noupe

10 Resources for the starting freelance graphic designer

Follow a new designer trying to make it as a freelancer

Fancy a laugh check out 100 Most Funny and Unusual 404 error pages

So check these out and don’t forget the forums are still open for chatting to other readers and hopefully I can get back into the swing of blogging again very soon, also I am planning a new design so look out for that.

I will be posting a review of the new site from Eden Envato, Theme Forest which is currently in private beta as I am one of the lucky testers. I will give you a sneaky peak at what is very likely to make a lot of designers very happy and rich and could most definately will become the central point of template sales. Look out for that in the next couple of days.

Interviews: Get your requests and questions in

July 5, 2008

I am going to be interviewing a number of people in the graphic/web design industry over the next few weeks and would like to hear who you would like to be interviewed and what questions you would like me to ask them.

I have one confirmed interview with one of my idols in this field, he was the person who made me decide to restart Help Developer over its quiet year, but you will have to wait till next week to see who I am talking about.

But in the meantime, do get your requests in and I will see what I can do.

Looking for contributers on Help Developer and Others

July 5, 2008

Some of my regular readers may have noticed a down turn in the amount of posts that I am posting, this is because I don’t have as much time as I used to as I am running my web design business full time. However, don’t worry I still aim to post at least once every 2 - 3 days. I am looking for a number of contributers who have some free time and would like to help with Help Developer, the forum and some other of my sites.

You can become a regular writer or just write the odd post, I don’t mind, you’d be helping me afterall. It is a great opportunity to get your site/blog some exposure or just become part of the site, with over 3000 visitors per day, you will get readers. You will be given your own area to submit posts and in each post, you can add a description about yourself and add links to your sites to get more readers. I also don’t require the content to be unique, by all means you can add the content to both your site and Help Developer although I think it is only fair if you do then please put all of the content of the post on HD not just the first paragraph and then a link to read the rest on your site.

Changes at Help Developer

July 1, 2008

As Help Developer is getting more and more popular I felt that I needed to clean a few things up and make it nicer looking. So you may notice some changes around here, I would like to hear your opinions on the new tweaks so please leave them as comments.

Help Developer Thanks You

June 25, 2008

Help Developer was launched about a year ago, it went through many changes:

Stage 1,

Firstly, it was simply a directory where people could submit their tutorials on a whole host of areas, most of its traffic came from Stumbleupon and Digg until it got banned from Digg because it was a middle man site. This ruined Help Developer’s market on Digg where I think nowadays it could do very well. I have contacted Digg and asked them if they could change this and they quite rightly said no………………….
