Eden becomes Envato

If you follow graphic design blogs then you will have probably come across sites like PSDTuts, NETTuts and VectorTuts, all of which are part of the formerly known Eden network. Whilst, I was looking at my twitter today I noticed that there were a few messages from Collis Ta’eed about the new name, so I headed over to their website and checked it out. Eden is now called Envato.

The reason for the name change was because there would have been complications when they tried to trademark Eden, so a new name seemed the best option.

That’s isn’t all the news from Envato either, they are launching a new marketplace similar to their popular FlashDen for CMS theme sales which is very exciting for me, up until now there have only been 3 real places to sell themes and they weren’t fantastic (Digital Point, Sitepoint and Templamatic). Hopefully Envato can deliver and I do think that they will, they have built a massive audience to their sites which delve in the design and web coding sectors which means that there are already a lot of designers using their sites so the chances are that they will use ThemeForest.
