Step 1

Create a new image 640px x 440px and create a new layer.

Step 2

Select a rectangle and right click, choose the Select menu and choose Rounded Rectangle, set the radius to 3, fill the selection with black (000000), it should now look like this:

Step 3

Select the Paths tool and create a curved area like this:

Press Enter to make it a selection and fill with black (000000), resulting in:

-

Step 4

Create a new layer and draw a rectangle like this:

and fill it with 2c2c2c

-

Step 5

Create a new layer and select the whole of the tv area above the curve:

Set the forecolour to white (FFFFFF) and choose the Blend tool, in the blend options change the gradient to FG to Transparent and the Shape to Radial. Now click and drag from the top left to about the middle like this:

This should create something like this:

Change the layer opacity to 30.0

-

Step 6

Now create a new layer and with the path tool select an area at the top of the tv like this:

Press Enter and fill it with White, go to the Filters menu and select Blur > Blur and change the opacity of the layer to 30, this will create this light effect:

Do a similar thing down the right hand side to make it look like this, do it on a new layer and make the opacity just 20.0, this will give it a much better effect:

-

Step 7

Go back to the screen layer (the one filled with gray) and select the Layers menu and select AutoCrop Layer. Now duplicate this layer, delete the contents and move it to the top of all layers by clicking and dragging the layer in the Layers window and moving it up. On the left edge and top edge add a 1 pixel thick line in black, like this:

Do the same but this time with white and on the right side and bottom edge instead of the left and top, change the opacity of the layer to 10.0, resulting in this:

-

Step 8

Create a new layer and select the Paths tool. Create a curve like at the bottom of the TV, this may take some time to get perfect and remember to zoom in:

-

Step 9

Now we are going to add the Samsung logo and power button. Download this image and go to File > Open As Layers and insert the image, place it below the screen like this:

Step 11

Now for the stand, go to the last layer and create a new layer above it. With the Ellipse select tool, create an oval like this and fill it with 656565:

Go to the Colours menu and select Colourify, change the Custom Colour to black and click OK. Now go to the Layers menu and select AutoCrop. Again, go to the Layers menu, this time select Scale Layer and click the link button so it shows itself in the unlink state. Then add 4 to the width and height properties and click Scale. This will produce this:

Now zoom in and with the paths tool make the bottom of the stand meet the top of the stand like this:

-

Step 12

Now with the paths tool draw something like this:

Press Enter and then Delete, this will create this:

Duplicate the layer and choose AutoCrop Layer from the Layers menu. Use the Flip tool to flip the layer upside down (you will need to change the options to Horizontal). Move the layer down so it looks like this:

It’s a very nice image, and yes, it looks vector; but it is still a raster graphic.
