Posted on Monday, April 14th, 2008 | stored in Gimp

In this 4th part to my series, I will tell you how to create this icon:
rssfids1.png

  1. Firstly, as last time download this image by right clicking and choosing the Save Image As… (or something similar) option:
    rss11.png
  2. Create a new image with 125px x 125px dimensions
  3. Now select the Open As Layers option on the File menu and find the RSS feed icon you just saved
  4. Select the transform tool (shortcut: “Shift and P”), and click and drag the edges to make a shape like this:

  5. Press the transform button and duplicate the layer twice.
  6. Select the bottom of the 3 rss layers and select the Flip tool and make the flip type verticle and click the image, now select the top half:

  7. Press the delete button on your keyboard and move the layer down by 10 pixels and press Ctrl and A, Ctrl and X and then Ctrl and V. Go to the main Gimp window and set the forecolour to ff7638 and press Ctrl and comma (,), this will create:
    rssfids.png
  8. Now select the Layers menu and choose Scale layer. Set the width to 88 pixels and click Scale. This will result in this:
    rssfids1.png

And that’s it. Another RSS icon. Stay tuned for more or check out my previous RSS feed icons:
